Starter Stud Earrings
Once those starter stud earrings are inside of your ears, you will have to take care of them properly in order to avoid infection.
Far too often, those that have just had their ears pierced do not tend to the new piercing correctly. This results in a rather bad ear infection amongst other things. To avoid this problem, keep your ears clan with hydrogen peroxide. Soak a cotton ball in hydrogen peroxide, and apply it to the area at least three times per day. As soon as the area starts to turn red or itch, apply an antibiotic to the area. Most starter stud earrings are rather easy to turn, which is another important part of any ear piercing – you must turn the earrings once per day.
Also, it is imperative that all new earrings do not contain any nickel, since many people can be allergic to this metal. Once the starters have been in the ears for three weeks, they can then be removed and changed. Every time you place a new pair inside of your ears, they should be thoroughly cleaned with that hydrogen peroxide. This way, you can keep any possible infections at bay. While it is not hard to care for pierced ears, this simple process is often overlooked.
If you have a child that wants pierced ears, consider whether or not they will take care of them. If your child is younger, be sure that you clean the earrings daily. Also, since your child will not remember to turn them, you must turn them for the child. Since starter stud earrings can be removed by children, it is best to wait until your child is old enough to have their ears pierced. This way, your child cannot remove the earring and swallow it.
Earrings are a great way to express your personality, or that of your child’s, though they must be tended to. As you tend to all other things in life, your ears must be carefully monitored. Even though it can be tempting to remove those simple studs, try to avoid the urge to take them out until they have been inside of your ears for three weeks.
Since you only get one pair of ears, be sure to take care of those starter stud earrings properly. Use the hydrogen peroxide, turn them every day, and leave them in for a full three weeks.
